What it is
Lucid Q-PTP delivers Q-switched Nd:YAG energy at 1064 nm and 532 nm. Its PTP function splits a single pulse into two, which reduces the discomfort and adverse effects patients typically associate with Q-switched treatment while preserving the photoacoustic effect that breaks up pigment.

Key features
PTP pulse splitting
Dividing one pulse into two lowers peak thermal load at the skin surface, minimising discomfort and adverse effects during treatment without sacrificing fragmentation of the target pigment.
High repetition rate
25 Hz at 1064 nm keeps treatment times short across large areas — meaningful for toning protocols where coverage matters as much as fluence.
Dual-wavelength targeting
532 nm is strongly absorbed by oxyhaemoglobin and melanin with shallow penetration, making it the choice for superficial pigmentation. 1064 nm penetrates further for deeper dermal pigment and tattoo ink.
Quasi-long 300 µs mode
Adds a longer-pulse rejuvenation capability to the same platform, extending it beyond pigment and tattoo work.
The underlying principle
Q-switching compresses laser output into nanosecond pulses of very high peak power. Pigment particles absorb that energy faster than they can dissipate it as heat, fragmenting mechanically rather than thermally — which is why surrounding tissue is spared.
