What it is
The Denti-5 CO2 laser system emits an invisible infrared laser at a maximum power of 30 watts at 10.63 µm. It is designed around the realities of chairside oral surgery — sealing as it cuts, and removing most of the noise and vibration patients associate with dental treatment.
System components — Infrared laser oscillation tube, power supply with non-contact handpiece, LCD touch screen display, key switch and emergency stop.

The underlying principle
At 10.6 µm, CO2 laser energy is absorbed almost entirely by water in the first tens of microns of soft tissue. That very shallow absorption depth is what produces a clean incision with a narrow coagulation margin — precise cutting and haemostasis from the same beam.
